Our Team
Timothy Thunell, D.V.M.
Dr. Thunell grew up in Pennsylvania. In 1988, he graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in biology and chemistry. In 1994, he graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
He worked in general practices from 1994 through 1998 in Alaska, North Carolina, South Carolina and Pennsylvania. From 1998 until 2001, he worked in emergency and critical care in North Carolina, South Carolina and Indianapolis, Indiana.
He did relief work for other veterinary clinics in Indianapolis from 2001-2003 prior to opening Shelbyville Road Veterinary Hospital on January 2, 2004.
Dee
Dee is our office manager. She has been here since May 2005. She was a client before she began working here. She started working here answering phones and worked her way up to office manager. She is married and has two sons, Kyle and Michael. She has two dogs, Homer and Gracie Lou, and five cats, Tigger, Bugaboo, Dragon, Tyrone and Ninja.
Ashley
Ashley started with us on her externship in September 2010 and we were lucky enough to be able to keep her on as a veterinary assistant. She graduated from Harrison College in December 2010, and is currently attending University of Indianapolis to become a nurse. She has five cats, Waffles, Ace, Hoggle, Tonks and Chibs.
Lina
Lina has been in veterinary medicine since the mid-1990s. She started full-time with us in October 2004. In 2006, she went part-time. She has three children, two girls and one boy. She has one dog, Henry, and one cat, Motor. She fosters rescue puppies as well. Her husband has done many repairs on our building.
Robin
Robin has been with us since 2005 as a veterinary assistant. She has been in veterinary medicine since 2001. She is married with two children. She has two dogs, Hank and Moose, and one cat, Bourbon.
Tracy
Tracy began her career as an extern from Harrison College in September 2012. We kept her on as a veterinary assistant. She has a daughter, Makenzie, and two dogs, Molly and Dozer.
Whitney
Whitney started with us in January 2011 on an externship from Harrison College and we kept her on as a veterinary assistant. She has one dog, Fonzie.
